John Deere introduces its new T5 and T6 shaker harvesters

Cabin Comfort and Innovative Harvesting Technology

John Deere today unveils the new T5 and T6 shaker harvesters, featuring eight new models. With a wide range of engine power options, from the 6.8-liter engine with a maximum output of 305 hp in the T5 400 model to the powerful JD9X 9-liter engine with 466 hp in the flagship T6 800 model, these harvesters deliver exceptional harvesting performance. The new T5 and T6 harvesters provide an optimal operator experience, with the X9 cabin offering first-class comfort and functionality. This luxurious workspace includes ActiveSeat™ II, LED lights, a new right post display, and an electronically sealed dust-proof door. The CommandPRO™ control lever provides the operator with intuitive and personalized control of all the harvester’s main functions. To further enhance the operator’s experience, John Deere has integrated its innovative Precision Ag Technology packages, which include the StarFire™ 7500 receiver, the G5Plus CommandCenter™, and JDLink™ connectivity for increased operational efficiency and simplified data management.

“The introduction of our new T5 and T6 harvesters marks a significant advancement in harvesting technology for shaker harvesters,” says Jonathan Edwards, Product Marketing Manager for John Deere in Europe. “They will provide farmers with the tools they need to enhance productivity and efficiency in the field.”

Wide Range of Transmission Options

The eight new models of T5 and T6 harvesters come with an impressive range of engine power options, starting with the 305 hp (maximum power) 6.8-liter engine in the T5 400 and the new powerful JD9X 9-liter engine, which starts at 348 hp in the T5 500 with 5 shaker units and reaches an impressive 466 hp in the flagship T6 800 with 6 shaker units. All JD9X engine models feature smart engine speed management, improving fuel efficiency by reducing engine RPM during road transport and when stopped at intersections or traffic lights. All engine variants comply with strict Stage V emission standards.

High-Performance Harvesting

The crop feeder, designed to match the width of the rest of the crop channel (1.67 m for the 6 shaker models), eliminates flow restrictions throughout the harvester. Along with the large threshing and separation area of the T5 and T6 harvesters, this provides outstanding harvesting performance. The 2025-model-year harvesters will also come with new grain management options, offering grain tank capacities of up to 13,500 liters for the T6 (+23%) and 11,500 liters for the T5 (+15%). Additionally, operators can benefit from an adjustable discharge chute, allowing for greater control over unloading regardless of the trailer. The maximum discharge speed reaches up to 150 liters/second, enabling a rapid unloading of 13.5 tons of grain in just 90 seconds. Moreover, lateral slope compensation options are available, with a basic slope compensation of up to 7% and an optional slope compensation package (up to 14% slope compensation) and HillMaster™ technology with compensation of up to 22% slope.

Enhanced Productivity with Precision Harvesting

Regarding smart agriculture, the new T5 and T6 harvesters are equipped with John Deere’s advanced Precision Ag Technology, which includes the integrated StarFire™ 7500 receiver and the G5Plus CommandCenter™. The G5Plus CommandCenter™ provides operators with a large 12.8” high-definition display featuring intuitive menu functions, offering maximum control and visibility during harvesting. Furthermore, operators have the option to equip the harvester with the extended G5Plus monitor. This allows operators to monitor more functions simultaneously, such as viewing vehicle control functions on the main screen and precision agriculture applications like AutoPath™, Machine Sync, or Grain Sensing on the extended monitor. Machine Sync enables the combine driver to control the speed, direction, and positioning of the tractor, making precise unloading without spills and even loading the trailer on the go easier. The grain sensing technology offers real-time measurements of moisture, protein, and starch, for instance, in wheat and barley, facilitating the separation of higher-value grain and protein even during harvesting.

“The combination of these precise technological functions with JDLink™ connectivity, which provides seamless two-way data communication with the John Deere Operations Center™, our powerful and comprehensive digital farm management solution, enables the customer to plan, execute, monitor, and analyze every phase of their harvesting operation,” says Alexander Schnöder, product specialist for T5 and T6 harvesters.

Exceptional Operator Comfort

Operator comfort is essential in the design of the T5 and T6 harvesters. Known for the flagship John Deere X9, the spacious premium cabin of 3.68 m³ features an electronically sealed dust-proof door and a pressurized interior to prevent dust and debris from entering the cabin. The optional ActiveSeat™ II offers fully adjustable electronic controls, comprehensive cooling, and electronic suspension technology to ensure maximum driver comfort. For additional displays and mobile devices, the cabin also features 10 conveniently located 12V and USB charging points. The infotainment system offers excellent communication and sound capabilities, and it is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The CommandPRO™ control lever is an ergonomic, customizable control unit that makes it easy to program and store different settings for various drivers on the touchscreen, such as header belt speed, auger height, unloading auger folding, or the grain feeder tilt.

Maximized Uptime Included

John Deere is committed to ensuring maximum uptime for its customers, with a 98% parts delivery rate within 24 hours. Whenever timely repairs are not possible, the John Deere dealership will provide a similarly sized replacement harvester to avoid interruptions in the customer’s harvesting operations.
